Omoyeni Arogunmati

Omoyeni Arogunmati is an award-winning Nigerian visual artist and Blkarthouse Artist Advisory Board Member whose work centres on a series of impressionist portraits rendered with varying degrees of abstraction. Working in oil and acrylic, she uses bold brush and palette knife strokes to create layered, textured compositions that explore human facial expression and emotion. Her restrained palette of bold primary tones against raw colour blends gives her work a distinctive, instantly recognisable quality. Her practice reflects deeply personal and universal human feelings, both intimate and exterior.
