About the event

Featuring large-scale oil paintings drawn from personal memory, family photographs and historical research, Timothy reflects on the legacy of colonialism and the complexities of assimilation. His work traces the journey of the Krios, descendants of freed enslaved Africans once celebrated as “Black Englishmen”, and their disillusionment as British attitudes shifted. Drawing on Frantz Fanon’s reading of Othello, Timothy weaves together history and personal reflection to explore the fragile space between identity, acceptance and exclusion.
