In Bad Attitude, Boyland’s figures inhabit interiors shaped by both personal and found photographs. His subjects, often poised in moments of reflection or stillness, reveal the fragility of connection and the complexity of inner life. Works such as Living Room and Grave #2 contrast the vitality of domestic scenes with subtle reminders of mortality, evoking beauty within emotional unease.
With compositions bathed in warm light and rendered with cinematic precision, Boyland explores identity, intimacy, and resilience. The exhibition deepens his ongoing investigation into how private moments become expressions of strength, vulnerability, and quiet resistance.
