About the event

In Winter Remembers April, Whyte explores non-linear time and the philosophy of entropy, depicting figures caught between transformation and collapse. His large-scale compositions merge distortion and motion, where bodies shift through physical and psychological states. Works like Just slow down, don't you know that the revolution will be televised? evoke both chaos and introspection, while Prometheus Bound; sky burial reimagines myth to confront modern perceptions of Black masculinity.

Marked by theatrical tension and cinematic depth, Whyte’s paintings capture fleeting, ambiguous scenes, moments that hover between resistance and release. Through movement, symbolism, and sound, the artist redefines how history, identity and the body coexist in constant flux.
