About the event

Deen’s oil paintings focus on Black British subjectivity, reflecting her Sierra Leonean roots through vibrant portrayals of everyday life, care and memory. Tahir’s work interrogates how the Arab body is racialised in dominant visual cultures, combining horror aesthetics, gothic motifs and hip-hop references in sculpture, stained glass and installation.


Together, their practices invite us to reflect on what it means to be seen, and to see, within systems that seek to define and contain us. The exhibition is accompanied by a public programme and playlist that expand on its themes through sound and community.
