About the event

In this major exhibition, Zanele Muholi presents over 260 photographs celebrating South Africa’s Black LGBTQIA+ communities. As a visual activist, Muholi’s work captures love, trauma, and resilience. Key series include Only Half the Picture, Faces and Phases, and Brave Beauties, honoring non-binary and trans women. In Somnyama Ngonyama, Muholi explores racism and sexual politics through powerful self-portraits.
